Astrology Forecast for June 2013

We all welcome the month of June when the weather warms, the colorful flowers bloom and summer season begins, with anticipation and optimism for a great season after a long, dark winter. Summer officially begins on 6/21/13, called the Summer Solstice, when the Sun enters zero degrees of cardinal water sign Cancer, an action oriented zodiac sign symbolizing emotions, family, home and security. We celebrate the longest day of the year with gratitude for long days of sunshine.

May 2013 was quite an intense month with two Eclipses and Uranus square Pluto in Aries and Capricorn, respectively. It is important to mention this dominant, ongoing planetary alignment, which is active from 2012 through 2015. Uranus in independent and rebellious Aries is in challenge aspect to Pluto in Capricorn, a practical and status quo oriented sign that that is very different than Aries! There will be seven exact alignments between this revolutionary line- up of planetary energies, which last paired up in conjunction aspect back in the mid sixties. The keywords are revolution, transformation and major change.

We are all collectively and individually in the midst of this transformational time on our planet. It is important to remember that breakdown leads to breakthrough.
Though change and uncertainty may seem daunting, we are all collectively and individually in the midst of this transformational time on our planet. It is important to remember that breakdown leads to breakthrough. Also, many individuals are experiencing incredible awakenings and liberating change during this time period. We must ask ourselves where letting go and releasing (Pluto) can clear the way for exciting new beginnings (Uranus).

We will have very supportive emotional energies during the month of June with several planets in water signs in harmonious aspect to each other, allowing a flow of emotion, inspiration and compassion to turn our dreams into a reality.

With dreamy Neptune stationing Retrograde on 6/7/13 in imaginative Pisces, we are encouraged to allow intuition as well as uncertainty, a space in our lives, as clear action or concrete decisions may elude us temporarily.

We have a New Moon in Gemini on 6/8/13 at 11:57 AM EDT, stimulating lots of new ideas, enlightening conversations and stimulating learning opportunities. This is a seed planting time for our intentions, so brainstorm some new ideas to germinate through the Full Moon period.

With several planets triggering the Uranus-Pluto square early to mid-month, if challenges arise with others, this too shall pass! We will all have the opportunity to make positive connections with others on or around 6/19/13, when the Sun in Gemini joins expansive and boundless Jupiter. A Sun-Jupiter aspect in an air sign is a great time to teach, write, speak or communicate with others.

A Full Moon in Capricorn in Capricorn follows on 6/23/13 at 7:33 AM EDT, suggesting an excellent time for discipline and sustained effort supporting solid foundations and reward for hard work.

We end the month with Mercury, the planet symbolizing all forms of communication, stationing Retrograde in Cancer on 6/26/13. It will not station direct until 7/20/13. During this three week review period, our thoughts and perceptions are re-aligning on a deep, emotional level. Cancer rules over home, family, our roots, mother and safety. Retrograde periods ask us to review and contemplate the area of life affected by the retrograde planet and sign in our natal birth chart by transit. It is a wonderful time to re-connect with family and old friends. Cancer can also evoke a moodiness which is best supported by allowing space to express emotions in a safe and nurturing environment.

As usual, during a Mercury Retrograde cycle, it is important to re-check all practical concerns such as backing up a computer, finishing up loose ends on important projects, confirming reservations, travel plans and other related matters. If possible, it is advised not to sign long term contracts during this short cycle. A retrograde cycle asks us to allow some right brain creativity to emerge in our daily lives. It is a good time to take a vacation, remember your dreams, or simply daydream!
